Joint Control Commission holds meeting in Bender

17:22 | 24.03.2022 Category: Official

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - A new weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission’s (JCC) members was held in Bender today, the Reintegration Policies bureau has reported.

The discussions started with the formation of the meeting’s agenda. Moldova’s delegation brought arguments to persuade the sides to include on the agenda topical subjects, which needed to be urgently settled, given that some processes of the monitoring mechanism in the Security Zone have been stagnating for more time. Also, the sides record the non-fulfillment of more JCC’s decisions, such as the one from 24 September 2020, which obliged the Joint Military Command to take measures for documenting all border guards’ posts, illegally set by Tiraspol on the pandemic period.

Nevertheless, the Transnistrian region’s delegation maintained its non-constructive position, continued attempts to politicize the work of the Joint Control Commission and to attract the military component of the peacekeeping mission in political disputes. Tiraspol’s representatives opposed the approval of the agenda this time too.

Thus, the Commission took no decision on important issues and the meeting was postponed for 31 March 2022.
