Chisinau, March 25 / MOLDPRES /- Moldova will switch to summer time on 27 March, the last Sunday of the month. The clocks will be changed by one hour and on Saturday night to Sunday 2.00 will become 3.00.

The transition to summer time aims to make the most of sunlight between April and October. At the same time, several specialists in medicine and psychology claim that the transition to summer time can influence the health and mental state of many people, especially those suffering from chronic diseases. According to them, in the few days that will determine the transition from winter to summer, more rest and adequate nutrition are recommended. Chronically ill people should be as careful as possible with the ongoing treatments they follow and strive not to interrupt.

The transition to summer time is in line with the proposal of the UN European Economic Commission and at the same time as the Member States of the European Union.

In March 2019, MEPs voted to waive the change of time in the European Union from 2021. This will allow each EU Member State to choose whether to stay in "summer" or "winter" permanent hours (standard time).
