Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - The contests on financing of cinematographic projects and of other kinds of activity in the cinematography sector will be carried out based on new provisions. The cabinet today approved amendments to the regulation on financing the cinematography, which sets the way and conditions of distribution and use of financial resources, allocated from the state budget for backing the films’ production, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, to ease the process and decrease the volume of documents both for participants and for the National Cinematography Centre, the regulation provides for the clear delimiting of the stages of the contest of cinematographic projects. While earlier, the participants in the contest have been submitting two files, of which one was opened only after the finishing of the first stage of the contest, in the new version, participants will submit the second file only if they were promoted to the second phase of the contest.

Also, the public presentation of projects will be introduced – a practice widely used in European countries, which ensures visibility and transparency for the projects due to be financed from public money. At the same time, the new provisions refer also to the conditions of financing and the way of reporting of financial resources accessed by beneficiaries.

It is worth mentioning that about 7,800,000 lei is provided for in the 2022 budget law for the development of the cinematography sector.  .
