Vulcănești-Chisinau power line to be declared public utility of national interest

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/- Parliament approved today a project on declaration of the public utility of national interest of the construction works of the overhead power line 400 kV electricity transmission Vulcănești-Chișinău,

The document sets out the mechanism for settling complaints about ensuring and monitoring the environmental and social impact of planned works.

The government will start the necessary land acquisition procedure and will earmark financial resources for elaboration and implementation of the action plan on relocation and compensation for damages for their permanent and temporary expropriation.

Payments for compensation to persons affected by expropriation proceedings are estimated at 20 million lei.

The construction works will be carried out within the project Interconnection of electricity networks between Moldova and Romania, Phase I. Total budget will be 260 million euros, for a period of four years.
