Moldova to send consignment of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine's authorities

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/ - Some of the stocks of humanitarian assistance, provided to Moldova for managing the refugees’ crisis, will be redirected to the authorities of Ukraine as international assistance. Also, the consignment of aid will include material goods due to be released from state reserves, reserves of the central public authorities and donations of economic agents. The decision was taken at a today’s meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE), chaired by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

The CSE members instructed the release by the Material Reserves Agency of assets worth 7.5 million lei from the state reserves to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations – institution in charge of the formation and carriage of the consignment of humanitarian assistance to the neighbor country. Subsequently, the Finance Ministry will allocate the financial means necessary for completing the state reserves.    

At the same time, Labour and Social Protection Ministry is to compile an order with the list of goods due to be donated from the stocks of humanitarian aid received for the management of the refugees’ crisis.  

The Finance Ministry, jointly with the Interior Ministry, through the Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of Border Police, will ensure the quick fulfillment of the formalities of crossing of the goods transported through the border. At the same time, representatives of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry will ensure the official delivery of the consignment of material goods to representatives of Ukraine.
