Customs Service reports revenues of over 627 million lei last week

Chisinau, April 18 / MOLDPRES /- The Customs Service's revenue to the state budget amounted to about 627 million lei on April 11 -17, more than 12% of the planned amount.

According to the institution, during the reference period, private people introduced in the country goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments amounting to over 17.8 million lei, which represents 2.8% of the total amount collected for the period.

Also, since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected over 8.5 billion lei from the state budget, with a 25% increase compared to the revenues from the corresponding period of 2021.

"The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.," says the Customs Service.

Also, on April 11- 17, 11,514 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted 75,093 crossings. "The busiest customs posts remain Leuseni and Sculeni, with 20,821 and 15,295 crossings, respectively," according to the quoted source.

In the fight against fraud, during the period in question, 91 violations of customs legislation were found and fines amounting to over 344 thousand lei were applied. The most frequent violations refer to the exceeding of the term on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of the means of transport with foreign numbers, declared by action.
