Moldovan president meets head of National Trade Unions Confederation

Chisinau, 20 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met the head of the National Trade Unions Confederation, Igor Zubcu, the presidential press service has reported.  

President Maia Sandu said that, for the governance, priority represents the jobs, encouraging the efficiency and enhancing the productivity at the working place, as well as creating conditions for the return of the fellow countrymen to Moldova. And the trade unions should become partners in the carrying out of this approach. The head of state also stressed the need to reform the state institutions, including in order to exclude the abuses in the enforcement of the labour legislation.   

For his part, Igor Zubcu gave assurances that measures would be taken for the recovery of the confidence in the trade union structures and rehabilitation of the organization’s image, hit by the fraudulent management of the trade unions’ assets in the last years. In these conditions, President Maia Sandu showed openness for the development of the dialogue with the social partners.
