Chisinau, 23 May /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) today informed about more controls, made on the last period, as to the quality of the fresh/refrigerated and congealed fish, sold in trade units, in the wake of which non-conformities were detected.

According to ANSA, Agency’s inspectors found out more non-conformities, such as: inadequacy of sanitary and veterinary norms as to the requirements of placing aquaculture products on market, the lack of price, the lack of information about the validity term, producers and other compulsory stipulations for informing consumers, etc.

„Based on the non-conformities detected, reports were compiled on contraventions. At the same time, decision-makers collected samples of fish for laboratory analyses. Following laboratory results, the non-conforming consignments were immediately withdrawn from commerce. The controls on the verification of the quality of fresh/refrigerated and congealed fish, commercialized in trade units, will continued,’’ ANSA said.

The National Food Safety Agency recommends that consumers purchase food products, especially easily perishable ones, only from authorized units, which ensure the observance of the hygienic and sanitary conditions, being guided by the following criteria of determining the freshness of fish: bright, clear eyes and other conditions.

„If non-conforming products are detected on shelves of shops or non-conforming services are provided, insist that they are withdrawn from commercialization and ask for the register of claims, in order to put down the concerned non-conformities. Also, notify the National Food Safety Agency at the phone number 022-26-46-43, Viber – 067675544 or at the email: [email protected],’’ reads an ANSA press release.
