Development of southern region discussed at Cahul Business Summit

Chisinau, May 26 / MOLDPRES /- Cahul's economic development prospects, digital transformation opportunities and tourism potential in the south of the country were the main topics discussed yesterday at the Cahul Business Summit, considered the most important local event dedicated to business development in the region.

Cahul Business Summit is a first for this region and is an important platform for dialogue for all actors involved in regional development.

The summit highlighted how the tech sector, the private sector and local authorities can join forces for the economic development of the region, by implementing technologies in different fields of activity. The local digital agenda, opportunities and prospects for regional, including cross-border cooperation, as well as current labor market requirements in the southern region were also addressed, according to the organizers.

The agenda included four thematic sessions: investments - portfolio and opportunities for economic development of the Cahul region; labor market demand based on human resources and skills; digital transformation of the Cahul region; the tourism potential of the region, a panel in which the digital opportunities for the development of the tourism industry were discussed with the presentation of the application of the three digital routes with different tourist routes in the Cahul region.

The event was organized by Cahul city hall, with the support of the EU4Moldova project: Startup City Cahul. It is implemented in 2020-2024 by ATIC, with the financial assistance of the European Union in partnership with Sweden. The initiative addresses the sustainable socio-economic development of Cahul municipality and neighboring localities, which complements the regional coverage of development assistance provided by the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.
