Summer to start with exceptional fire danger warning in Moldova

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a Yellow Code of exception fire danger till 7 June.

According to meteorologists, because of the lack precipitation, in the time interval 31 May - 7 June, exceptional fire danger (class V) with natural character and threatening of fire of forest belts and agricultural crops is expected. In this respect, rescuers and foresters warns about a possible taking fire of farmlands, deposits with fodder, areas with forest vegetation, houses and annexes.

The concerned services demand that the residents avoid the use of open fire nearby their dwellings, household annexes and deposits with fodder, on lands covered with dry vegetation, especially when they are placed nearby woods, plantations or objects with high risk of fire. At the same time, decision-makers recommend the restricting of carrying out of works, which create friendly conditions for the occurring of fires through emissions of volatile substances or excessive overheating.

According to SHS, on 1-2 June, the air temperatures will increase up to +32 Celsius degrees. At night, the air temperatures will drop to +18 degrees, with thunderstorm rains in places.
