Procedure of issuing environmental authorization for irrigation to be simplified in Moldova

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - The procedure of issuance of the environmental authorization for irrigation will be simplified. The parliament’s commission for agriculture and food industry, at a today’s meeting, approved a draft on amendment of normative acts, in order to develop the hydro-ameliorative sector.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the document provides for amendments to the law on water, which suggests the shortening from 30 to 20 days of the term of considering the application of issuing the environmental authorization for the special use of water. At the same time, decision-makers propose that the environment authorization for the centralized irrigation system should be issued to the association of users of water for irrigation. The concerned authorization will be issued also for the technological stations for irrigation, which manage the irrigation infrastructure.
Another provision of the draft refers to the settlement of the procedure of assignment of the environmental authorization for irrigation. Under the amendments suggested, if there are more assignees in the area of an irrigation system, the registration of the assignment of the environmental authorization will be made for each assignee separately.
The legislative provision also envisages the amendment of the Land Code, which will allow placing precipitation water reservoirs on farmlands.
The draft is to be submitted to the parliament’s plenum for approval.
