Moldovan PM takes part in event dedicated to Children's Day

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/ - A message for peace and safety of children from all over the world today was expressed at an event dedicated to the Children’s Day, organized in the Stefan cel Mare Public Garden. Attending the holiday titled, Children Say: We Want Peace!, was Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, along with the host of the event, Education and Research Minister Anatolie Topala, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

In her speech, the PM referred to the need to provide a safe and friendly environment to the children, to invest in their education and protection.

„We are obliged to do our utmost, so that all children of Moldova, from all over the world have a happy, protected childhood and the chance to grow up fulfilled people. Our role is the one to invest in their education, to protect them and provide them with an as good as possible future. For our children, for our future, we are obliged to always think about how to create a safe environment, in which they are to be brought up,’’ Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said.      

At the same time, the PM touched upon the measures undertaken by the government to back the families with children, as well as the launch of the National Programme for Protection of the Child 2022-2026, which includes a string of provisions in the field of protection of the rights of the child.     

The prime minister reiterated the message for the reestablishment of peace in Ukraine and thanked the people for solidarity and the homes opened for thousands of Ukrainian children, who flee the war.  

„On this special day, we should think about the fact that there are millions of children hit by a deep tragedy at the border of our country. Unfortunately, they are also victims of a cruel, merciless war, which is not theirs. This year, namely in order to give a signal to the entire world, our message in simple in Moldova: Children Say: WE WANT PEACE!’’ Natalia Gavrilita added.
