Modernization project of wastewater treatment plant to be continued in Causeni

Chisinau, June 9 / MOLDPRES /- The South Regional Development Agency (ADR), the Causeni District Council and the executing company signed yesterday a company contract within the infrastructure project that provides for the modernization of the wastewater treatment plant in Causeni (stage II) and the construction of the sewerage in the Causenii Vechi sector, financed by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL).

The value of the enterprise contract amounts to about 70.7 million lei (about 3.55 million euros), of which 55.5 million lei will be allocated from the sources of the National Fund for Regional Development, and 15.2 million lei (10%) is the contribution of the Causeni District Council.

"It is an example by which the Government demonstrates consistency in its achievements and in achieving its objectives. Previously, from the sources of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development was successfully implemented the first stage of reconstruction and modernization of the station We want to have as many ambitious projects as possible in Causeni and other districts, in order to prevent the degradation of the environment and the quality of water resources, and, respectively, to improve the quality of wastewater " said Igor Malai, department head of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

As a result of the implementation of the project Modernization of the wastewater treatment plant in Causeni (stage II) and construction of the sewerage system in Causenii Vechi sector, three thousand inhabitants will be connected to a modern sewerage network and will gain access sustainable quality public services and utilities. In total, about 16,000 inhabitants of Causeni will get direct access through the centralized sewerage system to the modernized treatment plant.

The project documentation provides for the construction of a biological treatment block, so that the total capacity of the wastewater treatment plant in Causeni to double. At the same time, the project plans the construction of seven sludge treatment platforms, landscaping and the construction of the access road to the station, the construction of 10.4 km of sewerage network in Causenii Vechi sector and its connection through two newly built pumping stations.
