Bailiff from Moldovan capital to be investigated

Chisinau, June 16 / MOLDPRES /- A bailiff from Chisinau and two of his accomplices will be investigated for the illegal dispossession of a man's apartment.

According to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, the three are accused of committing the crime of abuse of power. They, operating in the constituency of Chisinau, in April 2018, received for execution a document ordering the solidary collection from two debtors of the debt in the amount of 43,495 lei, contracted from a microfinance organization.

Further, the bailiff established during the enforcement proceedings that one of the two debtors is the sole owner of a two-room apartment, abusing his duties, organized a fraudulent auction in order to arbitrarily deprive the debtor of the right to ownership of the apartment.

Following the rigged auction, the real estate was awarded, at a low price, by an accomplice. Thus, the injured party was illegally deprived of ownership of the apartment, causing major material damage.

At the request of the prosecutors, in order to repair the material damage caused by the crime, half of the dilapidated property on the disputed apartment was seized.
