Customs Service collected over 653.5 million lei last week

Chisinau, June 20 / MOLDPRES /- On 13 -19 June, the Customs Service received over 653.5 million lei (about 32 million euros) from the state budget, 15.1% more than the budget burden set for this period.
According to the Customs Service, the individuals introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments amounting to over 17.1 million lei, which represents 2.6% of the total amount collected for that period.
The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development and social projects.
Also, during the last week, more than 10,200 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted approximately 75 thousand crossings.
Regarding the fight against fraud, during the period covered, 64 violations of the customs legislation were found and fines amounting to over 375 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected 14.3 billion lei from the state budget, up by 23.6% compared to the revenues of the corresponding interval of 2021.
