WHO donates batch of medicines to Moldova

Chisinau, June 21 / MOLDPRES /- World Health Organization (WHO) today donated to the Ministry of Health a new batch of medicines, medical supplies and disinfectants for managing the refugee crisis in Ukraine and the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the ministry, 200,000 bottles of hand hygiene solution, 770 kg of medicines, medical supplies and 900 ampoules of Tocilizumab - an injectable drug used in the treatment of COVID-19 and rheumatoid arthritis - arrived in Chisinau and juveniles, as well as a kit for the treatment of malaria.
In 2020-2021, the WHO, with its partners, the European Union, USAID, the governments of Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Norway and Austria, procured and brought to our country medical equipment and consumables worth about 8.4 million dollars.
