Moldovan government to compensate up to 100% of value of excise duty on diesel for small, medium enterprises

Chisinau, June 21 / MOLDPRES /- Excise duties on diesel used in 2022 by small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises will be compensated by the government up to 100%. The decision was announced on Monday by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița at a working meeting with representatives of a farmers' association held at the government, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, the large agricultural producers will benefit from compensations of 30% or 894 lei / ton, and the small and medium enterprises will benefit from the compensation of the excise of up to 100% or 2,980 lei / ton. The excise tax will be granted retroactively, according to the invoices, starting with January 1, and almost 14 thousand companies will benefit from compensations. The total amount for small, medium and large producers will be about 277 million lei.

Gavrilita pointed out that the agricultural field remains a priority, as evidenced by the actions taken so far by the Executive. "We are a government that supports farmers. This was very clear when we increased the agricultural subsidy fund by 60%. Depending on the budget revenues and the resources we manage to mobilize on the part of external partners, we will continue this policy of supporting farmers ", she said.

The sides approached issues that need to be addressed by the Executive, and pledged to continue the dialogue to identify new support mechanisms for the benefit of the agricultural business.
