Chisinau, June 23 / MOLDPRES /- An event to popularize the 2030 Agenda in the Central Region of the Republic of Moldova was organized yesterday in Costești, Ialoveni district.

The German government is committed to providing support to the Chisinau authorities through the Support for the Government of the Republic of Moldova in Implementing the 2030 Agenda project, which aims to strengthen the capacity of public administration at the central and local levels. Also, non-governmental organizations are supported, in order to align the objectives and internal processes with the provisions of the 2030 Agenda and to strengthen the national system for monitoring the objectives of sustainable development ", ADR Center said.

During this event, the basic pillars of the 2030 Agenda were presented, as well as the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the relevant targets for the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the participants were trained in an interactive exercise - Quiz 2030 Popularizing the 2030 Agenda, through a test with questions that strengthened their knowledge on the proposed topic.

Four information campaigns are planned for June, in the North, Center, South and Gagauzia development regions, as part of the process of popularizing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals at regional and local level.

In September 2015, the Republic of Moldova, along with 192 other UN member states, adopted the Declaration of the Sustainable Development Summit, committing itself to implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Thus, by 2030, our country, along with other countries, will mobilize its efforts to eliminate all forms of poverty, to fight inequality and to address the problems of climate change, ensuring that no one is left behind. The 2030 Agenda is an action plan for People, the Planet and Prosperity. The 2030 Agenda is also aimed at strengthening universal peace. All countries and all stakeholders must act in partnership to implement this action plan.
