Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today pays a working visit to Ukraine, at an invitation by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In the first half of the day, the head of state went to several towns in the Kiev region, seriously hit by the war, the presidential press service has reported.
„I saw with my own eyes houses burned from foundation, apartment blocks destroyed by missiles, hospitals, shops and kindergartens made ruins by attacks of the Russian artillery, in Borodyanka and Irpin. I also saw the place of common graves in Bucha, where tens of people shot during the occupation of this town by the Russian army were buried. This is a tragedy difficult to express in words,’’ President Maia Sandu said after visiting those three Ukrainian settlements. At the same time, she noted that Moldova, from the first day, had condemned Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and called on the international community to do its utmost, in order to re-establish peace, to investigate and punish the unjustified crimes committed during this conflict.
„For four months, Ukraine, our neighbor and friendly country, has been living in war. We are with the courageous Ukrainian nation, which fights for its freedom and for the freedom of Europe. The future of Ukraine is in the free world, in the great European family,’’ Maia Sandu said during her visit to Ukraine.
