Chisinau, 12 July /MOLDPRES/ - The building and assembly works for the supply with drinking water of six settlements from the Floresti district, through their connection to the Soroca-Balti water main, have started in northern Moldova.

According to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), during 11 months, starting from July, the entrepreneur committed to construct the feed pipe and networks of aqueduct for the supply with drinking water in six rural settlements of the Floresti district.

The construction contract’s value is of about 35.8 million lei (about 1.8 million euros), allocated by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL). The contribution of the Floresti district council and of the partner mayoralties is 10 per cent of the value of the construction contract.

This year, ADR Nord implements six new projects on water and sanitation supply (AAS) from FNDRL sources in north Moldova, of which one project implies the working out of a pre-feasibility study regarding 33 settlements from the Donduseni, Soroca and Ocnita districts.  One of those six investment measures in the AAS sector is also the project, Water for Life in the Northern Region: the Districts Floresti and Soroca 2, submitted by the Floresti district council within the appeal on selection of projects of regional development for the period 2021-2023.
