Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The electronic signatures qualified and authorized by the competent institutions of the European Union member states will be recognized in Moldova. The cabinet today approved a decision on the recognition of the qualified electronic signatures, created with the use of the public key qualified certificate, issued by a provider of services of confidence from the EU member state, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

Thus, the documents signed electronically in the EU countries will have the same legal value with the ones signed according to the provisions of the national legal framework. At the same time, the verification of the authenticity of the European electronic signature, put on a document in PDF format, will be made in the identical way with the verification of the authenticity of the electronic signature in Moldova. In this respect, decision-makers will use the governmental integrated service of electronic signature (MSign) and the device of verification of the electronic signature possessed by the public institution, Information Technology and Cyber Security Service (STISC).

The Electronic Governance Agency will ensure the integration of this device into the governmental integrated service of electronic signature (MSign) and STISC will ensure the work of the device of verification of electronic signatures, in line with the European Commission’s recommendations.
