Rehabilitation of Chisinau-Giurgiulesti national road to be finished till 1 November

Chisinau, 21 July /MOLDPRES/ - The works of rehabilitation of the national road M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulesti are ready at a level of over 76 per cent.

The leadership of the State Administration of Roads (ASD) on 20 July paid a working visit to southern Moldova, where it verified the carrying out of works of renovation of 85.5 km of national road M3 Chisinau-Giurgiulesti (Sector 1: segment km 96+800 – km 122+800 and Sector 2: segment km 122+800 – km 171+290 and km 179+750 – km 190+750).

“Representatives of the entrepreneur LLC Automagistral Pivden reported about the progress of works at the present stage. They gave assurances that the entrepreneur would carry out the works in the terms set under the contract and will fully carry them our till late October this year,’’ ASD said.

The project is divided into two sectors and provides for the rehabilitation of the road system of 54.4 km of the first segment which crosses the exit from the Comrat city, the villages, Chirsova, Congaz and Svetlii from the Autonomous Territorial Unit Gagauz-Yeri, Balabanu, Aluatu and Chirilic from the Taraclia district and the construction of 31.1 km of new road, which crosses the settlements Ciumai, Taraclia district and Burlaceni, Cahul district.

The project’s value is about 30 million euros, allocated from a loan provided to Moldova’s government by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
