Over 100 projects to be implemented in north Moldova within European Village Programme

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 140 projects will be implemented in Moldova’s northern region, within the European Village Programme. Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu today made statements to this effect.   

According to the official, 51 projects are for the construction, extension, rehabilitation, modernization of water supply systems, water-purifying and sewerage systems in more settlements, such as Corjeuți, Drepcăuți, Moșana, Horodiște, Frasin, Miciurin and others; 37 projects for the construction, renovation, rehabilitation of public buildings, including through measures of improving the energy efficiency of public buildings.   

„Also, 19 projects are for the street illumination. The villages of Cuhnești, Pârlița, Musteață, Băhrinești, Hiliuți and other settlements will have illuminated streets; 15 projects for the conservation of historical monuments and popular traditions,’’ Andrei Spinu said.    

Another five projects are for the working out of General Urban Plans of the Colicauti commune, northern Briceni district, Radoaia village, Sangerei district and Rudi village, Soroca district and one project is for the development of renewable energy sources of the settlements Sirauti and Briceni.    

A number of 492 projects on local development worth over two billion lei in all will be implemented within the European Village national programme. The contest for the selection of projects was held in March-April 2022 and 728 files on participation were submitted. The government on 22 July approved the inclusion of winner plans in the list of priority projects on local development, for financing from sources of the national fund on regional and local development on the period 2022-2023.
