New digital platform meant for local public administration to be implemented in Moldova

Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The process of digital transformation will extended at the local level, through the creation of a new platform meant for the local public authorities (APL), - e-APL. The platform will contribute to improvement of the quality of public services provided to citizens. The cabinet today approved the concept of the portal of Moldova’s local public administration.      

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, through the new portal, the central public authorities (APC) will provide important digital resources for the efficient management of activities locally. Also, this platform will integrate the present governmental services, such as the electronic signature and electronic payments, thus facilitating the providing by APL of online public services and the digital interaction with the citizens and the business environment.   

At the same time, the implementation of e-APL will help diminish the costs for accessing and processing data, so that people interested are able to easier and quicker get the data necessary and the electronic services, through the use of a single access point.

The e-APL platform will also allow enhancing the transparency of the work of the local public authorities; will standardize the business processes and the documents related to them; will contribute to the rationalization of the process of providing public services locally, through the consumption of data needed from the state information resources and the platform governmental services. Thus, e-APL will represent a solution for the category Government to Government (G2G), Government to Business (G2B) and Government to Citizens (G2C).    

The costs for maintaining the portal, in the first year of implementation, are estimated at 5.4 million lei and will be covered from means of the Modernization of Governmental Services Project (MGSP), implemented by the Electronic Governance Agency, with the support of the World Bank Group.
