Moldovan parliament establishes mechanism of fiscal monopoly

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted amendments as to the mechanism of fiscal monopoly and setting up of the National Commission for Fiscal Monopoly. The provisions were voted in the second reading.
Under the document, the status of fiscal monopoly will give enterprises or groups of enterprises from Moldova right to carry out exclusively an economic activity related to assets or services, in order to get incomes for state. This right will be given only to the state-owned legal entity or where the state holds a majority stake.
At the same time, the legislative amendments see the creation of the National Commission for Fiscal Monopoly, which will find out the need to establish the fiscal monopoly for certain economic activities. Thus, the Commission, based on an analysis and public consultations, will identify the enterprise or group of enterprises for the assigning of the status of fiscal monopoly. The Commission will be made up of five members: by one representatives on behalf of the Finance Ministry (Commission head), Economics Ministry, Competition Council and two representatives of the civil society from the economic sector.
To get the status of state monopoly, the enterprise must have technical capacities, equipment and should enforce advanced technologies for carrying out the concerned economic activity.
