Fund of reducing energy vulnerability to be established in Moldova

Chisinau, 28 July /MOLDPRES/ - The fund of reducing the energy vulnerability will be established in Moldova. The parliament today adopted a draft law to this effect in the second reading.   

Under the document, the fund’s goal will be to prevent and combat the residents’ energy vulnerability. Thus, a monthly compensation is to be established for the vulnerable consumers for the payment of invoices for thermal energy in the centralized system, for the consumption of electric energy and natural gas.  

Also, subsidies will be provided to optimize the consumption of energy resources. An information system, Energy Vulnerability, will be created, and it will be meant to collect information on the parameters of the energy vulnerability of the household consumers and managing the mechanism of providing subsidies. 

The fund’s financing sources will be the state budget means, the European ones and other external sources. Their size will be approved under the annual state budget law.

The law on the fund of reducing the energy vulnerability will enter into force on 1 September 2022.
