New local elections to be held in north Moldova commune on 16 October

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today adopted a decision, thereby establishing that the new local elections for the mayor of the Braniste commune, northern Rascani district, will be held on 16 October 2022.
According to CEC, the ceasing before term of the mandate of the Braniste commune’s mayor appeared following the meeting of the conditions provided by the law, according to which the mayor’s mandate ends before term, if he/she is unable to exercise the powers for a period longer than four months in a row. Following the issuance of the Decision by the Drochia Court, the Braniste commune mayor did not have possibility to exercise his powers on the period 15 March – 15 July 2022.
Also on 16 October this year, new local elections for mayor office will be organized in another two settlements: Ialpujeni commune, southern Cimislia district and Salcuta village, south-eastern Causeni district.
