Chisinau, Aug. 1 /MOLDPRES/- New head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office Veronica Dragălin, who starts her work today, was introduced to the team. Attending the event were President Maia Sandu and Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco.
According to the Minister of Justice, the process of selecting the chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office was complex and carried out under new rules, agreed with several development partners. "I appreciate that Mrs. Dragălin left a successful career in the United States of America and decided to support the development of the Republic of Moldova by fully engaging in the fight against corruption. If we fight corruption effectively, then the conditions for sustainable development will be created. A serious structural reform will make the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office a strong and resistant institution over time, regardless of political or governmental changes in the country," Litvinenco said.
