Sappers destroyed over 60 explosive devices, 1,500 cartridges last month

Chisinau, 2 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- A number of 62 explosive objects and 1500 cartridges of different calibers were destroyed in July by sappers of the National Army.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the most recent demining mission was executed by the team of the Codru Battalion, near the village of Răscăieți, Ștefan Vodă district. There, where, following agricultural works, several explosive objects were detected. As a result of the ground survey, military engineers identified: 26 mines of various types, 12 F-1 hand grenades, six artillery shells, two launcher bombs, three warheads and 1500 cartridges. The ammunition, which dated back to the World War II was destroyed.

From the beginning of this year until now, military engineers have carried out 111 demining missions, as a result of which 297 explosive objects of various types and 11,026 cartridges were neutralized.
