Women Producers Catalog launched

Chisinau, Aug. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration participated yesterday in the launching event of the Catalog of women producers, the MAEIE press service has reported.

During the discussions, the head of diplomacy from Chisinau Nicu Popescu mentioned that the well-being of the Republic of Moldova depends on the ability to produce, export, ensure safe and decent wages, fair working conditions and attractive positions. Through this prism, at MAEIE the efforts were structured in three directions: one - attracting investments, two - increasing exports, three - promoting tourism.

In this context, the initiative called Discover Moldova's Finest was also launched, through which the best, most beautiful, most authentic and most attractive products are promoted, in the hope that these things will create more links between producers, companies and external partners so that new platforms can be developed to promote exports, which could turn into wages, jobs and contribute to increasing the quality of life.

"We assured the business people that they always have open doors at the MFAIE, in the embassies, to help them become better known as producers, more active, to discuss when you feel you have export capabilities, to agree together on some efforts and very concrete measures to help them find products from our country on store shelves. This catalog will make our job of promoting the economic interest of the country easier," the Moldovan official pointed out.

A second goal and process fueling this effort to modernize the diplomatic service involves adapting it to the goals of gender equality. Last fall, a gender audit process was launched to bring the diplomatic service up to modern, European standards.

The catalog of women producers is launched within the project "Supporting local women producers in business development, for sustainable growth and resilience against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential consequences", implemented by Sweet Mary, in collaboration with UN Women, thanks to the financial support of Sweden.
