"The format of the event is to be appreciated, as it provides an opportunity for local producers to promote their products, presenting them to diplomatic missions from the Republic of Moldova. Even more, we appreciate the fact that, in this edition, female entrepreneurs promote their authentic products in this community, which represents a good opportunity for promotion and can contribute to the development of their business. Expanding support for local women producers is imperative, as the ongoing pandemic and economic crisis have exacerbated gender inequalities, exposing existing vulnerabilities in social, political and economic systems, but have also affected women and, in particular, female entrepreneurs. We strongly believe that by helping women develop their own businesses, create jobs for themselves and others, we help increase their self-confidence and confidence that they can become financially independent, thereby investing in their families and communities ", said Katarina Fried, the ambassador of Sweden in the Republic of Moldova.

"Within the UN Women portfolio dedicated to the support and economic empowerment of women, we campaign for the eradication of the barriers faced by female entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey in launching a business. At the same time, we are making an effort to strengthen the capacities of these women through acceleration, pre-acceleration, qualification and requalification trainings, as well as mentoring - interventions that facilitate a better positioning on the local and foreign market. Thanks to the financial support offered by Sweden, we can invest in Moldovan women so that they can access opportunities and better living conditions", said Svetlana Andries, UN Women Moldova program specialist.
