Orheiul Vechi reserve to be rehabilitated from National Regional and Local Development Fund

Chisinau, August 23 /MOLDPRES/- The Regional Development Agency (ADR) Center and Orheiul Vechi Cultural-Natural Reserve signed yesterday the financing contract within a project to consolidate, preserve and develop the tourist infrastructure.

The project will be implemented in the next two years and provides for the execution of conservation works and the development of access for visitors, including people with special needs, to the tourist attractions in Butuceni. "Works to consolidate the medieval Bath, reconstruction works of a portion of the medieval fortification system with exhibition halls, building works of the block with a multifunctional conference room, offices and warehouses will be carried out here", indicates ADR Centru.

The total value of the project, according to the funding request, is 29 million lei (1.45 million euros), an amount approved by the National Regional and Local Development Coordination Council from the National Regional and Local Development Fund.

Thus, by achieving the objectives proposed in the project, the sustainable valorization of the cultural heritage, the highlighting of the architectural heritage, as well as the modernization of the existing infrastructures will increase. "This will cause a considerable increase in the number of visitors to the area, a fact that will have a beneficial impact on the local community, will support economic agents in the region and respectively increase the contribution to the local and state budgets", summarizes the quoted source.
