Chisinau, August 25 /MOLDPRES/- The College of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) approved today the roadmap on the actions due to be taken by the institution in Moldova's European integration. Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco made the statement today.

According to the official, the roadmap includes the priority directions and actions due to be carried out by the MAI, and will be as a guide for each structure subordinate to the institution. "Attending the meeting were security officials and ministers from the government. The document sees strengthening efforts in the fight against organized crime, strengthening community safety, migration and border management, automating work processes and information exchange, joining the Emergency Warning System, as well as digitalizing the documentation process of contraventions. Through these measures, we want to ensure a peaceful life and a stable environment", Revenco said.

The MAI officials said that the institution's agenda will include alignment with European standards, early identification of risks, use of European resources through the EU support hub, due to be opened in Chisinau, as well as the creation of the national focal point on weapons and ammunition, under the European model.

For his part, the head of the National Security, Defense and Public Order Parliamentary Commission, MP Lilian Carp said that several problems following the regional crisis were approached at the meeting of the MAI College. "It is very necessary to invest more in security if we want to face the challenges. We want to reform the Migration and Asylum Office by increasing the number of employees. At the same time, it was established that the cars of the employees of the MAI structures have exceeded the operating term. We need to find solutions to improve the conditions of those who work within the institution, including by increasing salaries. Also, it is necessary to take actions to deal with cyber attacks, which present an increased risk", Lilian Carp said.

The roadmap on the actions to be undertaken by the MAI in the European integration of the country is to be carried out for 18 months.
