Chisinau, 13 September /MOLDPRES/ - Two patrol agents of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) are prosecuted by officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) as suspects of passive corruption. They would have asked for bribe from a driver, in order not to document an alleged case of driving drunk.

According to CNA, the denouncer was stopped by two patrol policemen, who found out, after checking the alcohol content in blood, that the driver would have driven drunk. In order not to register the case, the policeman would have asked the driver for 3,000 lei. Subsequently, one of the policemen would have suggested the denouncer to transmit the money through an employee of a Balti-based fuel supply station.

A criminal case for passive corruption was opened on this case and, under CNA’s control the delivery of the money to the intermediary took place, who voluntarily gave the sum, at the request by the inquirers. One of the policemen was detained on the spot, while the other one is prosecuted at large.
