Moldovans working in Spain likely to benefit from pensions

Chisinau, 21 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Moldovans working in Spain will benefit from social guarantees. Today, the members of the foreign policy and European integration commission approved the report for the ratification of an Agreement concluded between the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of Spain.

The document concerns Moldovan citizens who worked in Spain, as well as Spanish citizens who were employed in our country. These are employees, self-employed or seconded workers, staff of international transport companies, diplomatic missions or consular offices. Beneficiaries will be able to receive pensions for age limit, pensions and allowances for general disability or caused as a result of work accidents or occupational diseases, as well as survivor's pensions.

The value of the pensions will be calculated proportionally by each state, depending on the period of insurance completed in the territory.

The agreement between Moldova and Spain was signed on 21 July. So far, the country has concluded similar agreements with 16 states, and 14 of them are in force.
