Chisinau, 22 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- About 1,700 pupils study in Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region.

According to the Reintegration Policy Office, the situation in educational institutions with Romanian language teaching in the Transnistrian region is under permanent control both by the Ministry of Education and Research and the Reintegration Policy Office. Its priority is to carry out the educational process in an attractive and safe environment for children, the teaching staff and the administration of educational institutions.

Thus, this year, there is an increase in the number of pupils in educational institutions, where 1,677 children study, compared to 1,650 in 2021, 1,573 - 2020 and 1,547 - 2019.

At the same time, the cited source said "the Chisinau authorities express a justified interest in the opening/reorganization of other educational institutions in the region in order to diversify the educational offer on the left bank of the Dniester River and in Bender municipality".

Currently, there are eight educational institutions teaching in the Romanian language in the Transnistrian region.
