Former Moldovan president to remain under home arrest

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The magistrates of the Chisinau Court of Appeal today extended the home arrest for the former Moldovan president, Igor Dodon.    

The judges today partially admitted prosecutors’ approach concerning the prolongation of Dodon’s home arrest for another 30 days. Thus, the former head of state will remain under home arrest till 21 October.  

The former Moldovan president was detained in last mid-May, being suspected of committing the following offences: passive corruption, acceptance of political party’s financing by a criminal organization, high treason and illicit enrichment.
