Moldovan Customs Service collected over 622 million lei last week

Chisinau, Oct. 17 /MOLDPRES/ - On October 10-16, the Customs Service collected over 622 million lei (about 31.1 million euros) to the state budget, up by 12.7% than in the same period last year.
According to the customs institution, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments worth over 18.3 million lei, which represents 2.9% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.
Also, the past week, 10,378 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 75,660 crossings.
In terms of the fight against fraud, 32 violations of the customs legislation were found and fines worth over 96 thousand lei were applied during the period.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 26 billion lei from the state budget, up by 20.5% compared to the same period last year.
