Moldovan foreign affairs ministry hosts second videoconference of heads of diplomatic missions abroad with economics minister

Chisinau, 21 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has held the second meeting within the platform of communication and interaction between the Moldovan cabinet members and the heads of the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Moldova abroad. The participants in the event tackled commercial and economic priorities of the foreign policy within the concept of 4D diplomacy: European development; Dialogue, Diaspora and Economic diplomacy.    

According to the MAEIE’s press service, the state secretary, Veaceslav Dobanda, said that the economics minister’s invitation was aimed at creating a synergy of promoting the priorities of the economic diplomacy against the background of the multiple crises faced by Moldova.  

At the videoconference, Minister Sergiu Gaibu referred to the assistance in the strategic planning, with emphasis on resilience and fields which generate economic growth, in the conditions of a changing environment globally. The increase in prices for energy resources and especially the unjust war of Russia against Ukraine represent big challenges for the European community.   

In the case of the diplomatic missions, the official noted that the bilateral analysis on countries would become reference point in setting the priorities in the commercial and economic activity of Moldova’s diplomatic missions abroad. Sergiu Gaibu also said the specialty commissions would be rationalized to provide a concrete boosting in the economic, commercial fields, consolidation of export capacities and in terms of investments.  

Also, the heads of the diplomatic missions discussed the challenges faced by the embassies in the promotion of priorities on the dimension of the economic diplomacy and solutions identified in their settlement.
