Moldovan government changes regulations of providing paternal allowance, allowances meant for families with children

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the regulation on the way of establishing and paying the allowances meant for families with children and the regulation on the conditions of establishment, way of calculation and payment of the paternal allowance, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the regulation on the way of establishment and payment of allowances meant for families with children included the new option of providing the allowance for bringing up the child and namely establishing it in a quantum of 90 per cent from the calculation basis, for a period of 12 months after the giving of the child-care leave.
The other options remain in force too: 60 per cent of the calculation basis for the first 12 months after the giving of the child-care leave and 30 per cent of the calculation basis – for the next 12 months or the payment of 30 per cent of the calculation basis till the child turns three years. The option chosen initially cannot be changed subsequently.
The regulation on the conditions of establishment, way of calculation of the paternal allowance was modified in connection with the extension, from 56 days to 12 months, of the term when fathers can ask for paternal leave of 14 calendar days.
The adjustings were made, given the entrance into force, starting from 1 September 2022, of measures for the families with children, meant to ensure the balance between the parents’ professional life and the personal one.
