Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova Marko Shevchenko. The discussion was focused on up-to-date subjects, among which the events in the region and the security challenges faced by both countries, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The officials also discussed the management of the energy crisis from both states, triggered by Russia’s attacks with missiles against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure objects. ‘’These challenges escalate, in continuation, the security risks and the citizens of Moldova feel ever more the disastrous effects of the war started by Russia in Ukraine. This will be a complicated winter; yet, through unity and by the side of friends, we are sure that we will overcome it,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.

During discussions, the speaker congratulated the Ukrainian nation on the liberation of the Kherson city, which represents a new victory against the Russian aggression.

”Moldova from the very first day has been condemning this war; we are with the Ukrainian people and each time we said that we observe the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We do not recognize the annexation of Crimea and of its eastern regions by Russia,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu added.
