Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Interior Ministry (MAI) informs that the MAI National Contingency Plan for situations triggered by disconnections from power supply was enforced with the interruption of the power supply on 15 November in more settlements of Moldova and in some zones of Chisinau.

According to the Interior Ministry, this document provides for special measures and actions for ensuring public order and safety of the citizens, as well as ensuring the work of the activities at the headquarters of institutions, in case of disconnections from electric energy supply.

Thus, on the period when the energy system did not work in certain regions of Moldova, those three basic control offices of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), which ensures the 112 service, had no interruption from power supply, due to the reserve systems for supply with electric energy. We acted in the same way also in the case of the border crossing points, stations of firemen and rescuers, police control offices. In some territorial police inspectorates, the electric energy supply was interrupted for a period of up to half an hour. At present, all headquarters of the interior affairs system are connected to power supply and the delivery of electricity was reestablished all over Moldova.

MAI assures the citizens that the interior affairs system’s forces are on duty at any moment and in any situation, in order to protect them and ensure their social security.

Given that Russia’s bombardments against the energy system of Ukraine seriously hit the energy networks, MAI recommends that the citizens save electric energy, in order not to create overload in networks, which can prompt disconnections automatically.
