Chisinau city hall to provide bill offsets for low-income families

Chisinau, Nov. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall announced today that it will provide compensation when making payments for energy resources and utilities during 2022-2023 cold season for low-income families in the capital and the suburbs.

The aid is estimated at 40% of the invoice cost calculated according to the tariff in force for the heating and hot water delivered centrally, 500 lei per month for a family for the supply of natural gas used to heat the home and hot water and for electricity, used for heating and hot water.

Beneficiaries of the aid are disadvantaged people, whose average global income, for the last 12 months, is up to three thousand lei. At the same time, it is established as an exception, that young families, whose global average monthly income for the last 12 months, did not exceed the amount of five thousand lei, can benefit from the aid.

People who received this aid in the previous cold season will also receive support in the current season, without submitting an application, provided that their financial or family situation has not changed.

In the 2021-2022 season, 22,031 families benefited from compensation from the municipality when paying their heat bills, for which the amount of 80.5 million lei was paid.
