Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with the representative of the UN Women in Moldova, Dominika Stojanoska, and an international expert, Zorana Antonijevic, who carried out the gender audit at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE).
According to the MAEIE’s press bureau, the Moldovan official noted that the gender equality and the one of chances at the working place represented one of his personal priorities, which he had backed with much confidence as an investment in strengthening the ministry’s institutional capacities.
„I said that this project was an internal study – this is a first step for us to make sure that our policies, activities and projects are seen and carried out by taking into account the perspective of gender equality.
I want us to be able to undertake concrete measures for our diplomatic service to become more correct and fairer, where all of us can fulfill our professional potential and work with motivation for the country’s good.
Within the project, recommendations were made as to the carrying out of the gender dimension in the documents of strategic planning and internal acts,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu added.
