Customs Service collected over 710 million lei last week

Chisinau, Nov. 28 /MOLDPRES/- On 21-27 November the Customs Service collected over 710.25 million lei (about 35.5 million euros) to the state budget.

At the same time, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments of over 19.5 million lei, which represents 2.7% of the total amount collected.

Also, the past week 10,159 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 68,557 crossings.

In the fight against fraud, 80 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 717 thousand lei were applied. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 30.1 billion lei to the state budget, up by 19.0% compared to the same period last year.
