Chisinau, Dec. 5 /MOLDPRES/- The obligation to pay 5.7 million m3 of gas per day falls on the left bank. The right bank will not pay anything for the gas delivered by Gazprom and will only pay the cost of electricity, according to Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, who yesterday gave more details on the signing of the contract with MGRES for the power supply for the right bank.

According to Spînu, MoldovaGaz did not pay the advance for December. Until December 20, MoldovaGaz will pay the consumption of the right bank for November. "The obligation to pay 5.7 million m3 of gas per day belongs to the left bank. The right bank will not pay anything for the gas supplied by Gazprom and will only pay for the cost of electricity. MoldovaGaz did not pay the advance for December. By December 20, MoldovaGaz will pay the consumption of the right bank for November," the official said.

"In December, the left bank will receive about 3.2 million m3 per day. This gas is enough to provide the citizens of the left bank with gas, heat and electricity. December is a cold month and consumption is higher than November (remember, in November 2.3 million m3 were allocated per day). This volume of gas will also be sufficient to maintain technological processes at companies on the left bank (including MMZ). It is obvious that these companies will not be able to operate normally", writes Spînu.

The Deputy Prime Minister revealed that complicated decisions are being made during this difficult period. “I wish we didn't have a border war and gas and electricity prices were low like they were in previous years. Unfortunately it is not like that. We have war and its consequences affect us daily. We will resist, we will do everything necessary to make it easier for people to get through this period", Spînu said.

Energocom signed this weekend the electricity supply contract with the Dnestrovsk Power Plant (MGRES) for December. According to Spînu, this contract is a reasonable compromise to ensure the citizens on both banks of the Dniester with electricity and gas.
