Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The official inauguration of the Chinese Film Festival will take place in Chisinau on 12 December, following a successful experience in Bucharest in early last October.

The festival is organized by Guang Hua Cultures et Media and the Embassy of China in Moldova.

”We are honoured to be here, in the capital of Moldova, in a city rich with culture and charm, with which we have a long-lasting friendship. This year, China and Moldova mark the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations,’’ the head of the film festival, Zhang Xiaobai, said. ‘’In 2016, we launched Chinese film festivals in Germany and Italy, - initiatives which play an active role in the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese, Germans and Italians. The success from these countries taught us one thing: the film festivals are essentials in the promotion of mutual understanding and appreciation between people from various countries. The friendship between people is the fundamental key of solid relations between states.’’

At the same time, Zhang Xiaobai noted that "we are now here, in Chisinau, in order to use the big screen to allow the Moldovan people understand the history of the Chinese reform through the Chinese culture. We hope that this will be the first issue of a long string of editions of the Chinese Film Festival in Moldova and that it will serve as a linking bridge between film lovers and cinematography cameramen from the two states.’’

The official inauguration of the Chinese Film Festival will take place at Cineplex Loteanu at 17:00. The opening ceremony will include also a movie titled, Hold Your Hands, based on a real story of 8 Cave Village, which shows the miracle of the eradication of poverty in China. Due to its fascinating story, actors’ ability and impressive choreography, this film won numerous prizes and appreciations on behalf of the juries from numerous film festivals in which it participated.

Guang Hua Cultures et Media is the most important media group of Chinese language from Europe and it will mark its 40th anniversary in 2023. Besides the traditional news channels, the company invests considerable resources in the development of new information technologies, through its websites: oushinet.com, chine-info.com, uk.chinainfo24 and the European Television Network.
