MPs appointed new CEC member

Chisinau, Dec. 8 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament appointed Dana Munteanu as a member of the Central Electoral Commission. 53 deputies voted for her candidacy.
Dana Munteanu has been working at the CEC since 2012, and so far served as deputy head of the Election Management Department.
The Central Electoral Commission is made up of nine members: one member is appointed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, the other eight members are appointed by the Parliament, respecting the proportional representation of the majority and the opposition. The nominal composition of the Commission is confirmed by a decision of the Parliament, with the vote of the majority of the elected deputies. CEC members are irremovable and cannot be members of parties and other social-political organizations.
