Chisinau, 9 Dec. /MOLDPRES/- Six cities from the Republic of Moldova were connected to the national platform Alerte.md. To date, 355 local issues have been reported and discussed on the site, 13 civic initiatives have been launched, 19 polls have been published and more than 15 thousand votes have been generated on the platform, the Mediapoint organization announced today, which launched the project.

For each connected city, a dedicated version of the platform was created, which is managed by the city hall. Through them, town halls receive and respond to citizens' problems. At the same time, the town halls launch surveys to find out the opinion of the residents regarding various topics on the public agenda, based on which decisions are made. Citizens who have good ideas for the city can publish them as civic initiatives on Alerte.md.

Town halls that wish to implement Alerte.md in their locality are invited to contact the Mediapoint organization. The implementation of the project does not involve costs from the local authorities, these being covered by the project partners. So far, the platform has been launched in the cities of Cahul, Leova, Cantemir, Balti, Cimișlia and Căușeni, and will be launched in the next period in other localities in the country.

The expansion of Alerte.md will be carried out gradually in 2023-2024. The national platform Alerte.md was developed with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy. The local versions of Alerte.md in the cities of Balti and Cimișlia were launched with the support of the Open Government Partnership, through the EU Integrity Program for the Eastern Partnership, financed by the European Union.
