Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today informed that the Moldovan citizens from the Diaspora would be able to benefit from consular services with low taxes, the presidential press service has reported.
„Good news for the Moldovans from the Diaspora. On 8 December, the parliament voted, in the second reading, the draft law, according to which the consular taxes for our citizens from abroad are cut. Starting from 1 January 2023, they will be twice lower and the consular tax was removed for the processing of minors’ passports,’’ the head of state noted.
President Maia Sandu also said that the single platform of consular schedulings, www.programari.gov.md, today was launched in piloting regime. The platform was worked out by the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, jointly with the Electronic Governance Agency. For the beginning, the platform will be used by 13 embassies and shortly after, it will be extended in all the country’s diplomatic and consular representations.
„The concerned amendments will simplify the interaction of the Moldovan citizens with the consular offices, will improve their quality and will make them more accessible for people. And we will work in continuation, in order to provide our fellow countrymen from the Diaspora with quick and qualitative consular services, in order to make their connection with Moldova easier,’’ Maia Sandu added.
